Brendan McCarthy is a founding partner of Skyline Landscapes and the lead arborist. He possesses a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Urban Forestry from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. He is also a graduate of The Stockbridge School of Agriculture with an Associate’s degree in Arboriculture and Park Management. During his time at school he spent a semester in Sydney, Australia training as a tree climber.
After graduating college Brendan further developed his professional tree care skills by working as a tree climber for some of the top companies in the tree care industry around metro Boston.
In 2007 Brendan was offered a job at America’s oldest tree museum, The Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. The Arnold Arboretum is home to some of the rarest and oldest plants in North America. At the Arnold he maintained and improved numerous collections of trees and shrubs sometimes managing up to 30 acres of important collection material (trees) at a time. He became the lead horticulturist at the award winning Leventritt Shrub and Vine garden and oversaw a crew of up to ten people during parts of the growing season.
Brendan loves sharing his knowledge and experience with his clients. He brings a unique knowledge of plants and arboricultural techniques to all of the projects that he encounters.
