WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

“Since you started this well managed program, we can actually go outside to enjoy our backyard.  Before this service we had to coat ourselves in a natural repellent just to cook at our grill and now we can sit and enjoy a meal outdoors!” – Tony from Hingham

"I have young kids that are constantly outside and playing in the yard. I knew that I had to do something to protect them from ticks and mosquitos, especially since my property backs up to the woods. Luckily I signed up with Skyline Landscape's Tick and Mosquito program last year. Rich and his team were great, they were very thorough with the application and they also notified me a day or two before each monthly application. More importantly I noticed a significant decrease in tick/mosquito activity. I recommend Skyline's service for families in a similar situation to mine." - Tim from Norwell

WHY OUR SERVICES?

During the hot summer months, the best times to enjoy the outdoors is when it begins to cool down at dusk. This is also when those mosquitoes love to come out and eat.

From Spring until Fall, your yards tall plant life is infested with ticks that can hitch a ride onto you and your pets and make their way indoors.

Enjoy your backyard for longer, reduce risk of disease for your family, friends, and pets, all while improving the quality of life in the outdoors.

EXPERIENCE THE BENEFITS OF OUR MOSQUITO AND TICK BACKYARD TREATMENT:

  • Improve the quality of outdoor gatherings by extending your time outside and reducing itchy and irritating mosquito bites.

  • Provide a safe place to play for kids and little ones who are closer to the ground and more likely to attract ticks.

  • Reduce exposure to Lyme Disease and other tick-borne illnesses like Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, Ehrlichiosis, and Spotted Fever. (source)

  • Add safeguards for friends and family to prevent West Nile Virus and other mosquito borne diseases like Zika Virus, and Eastern Equine Encephalitis Virus.(source)

  • Minimize pet dog risk of contracting diseases like Canine Lyme, Canine Ehrlichiosis, Canine Bartonellosis, and many others. (source)

  • Remove the gross factor! Let’s face it, ticks and mosquitoes are gross, and no one wants to see or touch them if they can avoid it.

HOW DOES THE SERVICE WORK?

We have difference services for each unique situation and customer. Our mosquito and tick reduction services work through both an aerosol repellent, and through powdered residue.

ORGANIC TREAMENT:

  • Our organic treatment mists the air and plant life surrounding your property to create a barrier of scent that repels mosquitoes and ticks. This treatment is generally applied 7 times throughout the season to maximize its effectiveness. This is best for customers who are concerned with or  are allergic to pesticide use on their property.

TRADITIONAL TREATMENT:

  • Our traditional treatment also mists the air, then it also creates a powder-like residue on the surfaces of plant life surrounding your property.

  • That residue clings to the hair of the mosquitoes and ticks which poisons them and others who they encounter. This treatment is generally applied only 5 times throughout the season.

  • Service consists of between 5 and 7 monthly applications to the transition zones of your property as well as treating areas within your property lines that are likely to harbor areas for ticks and mosquitos. These areas include soggy ground, standing water, and plants that attract wildlife.

MOSQUITO TRAPS (EXCLUSIVE ADD ON):

  • As an add on service, our mosquito traps attracts and kill mosquito females with larvicide ingredients that target both mosquito larvae and adults.

  • Our mosquito traps only use a small dose of bioactive mixture in an enclosed environment specifically attractive to mosquitoes. Only tiny amounts of the larvicide will spread to other breeding sites, which is just enough to kill only mosquito larvae, not other organisms like fish or mammals.

  • Mosquito traps are incredibly effective for mosquito control because:

    • They kill both adults and larvae

    • Uses mosquito behavior

    • Shown 100% kill of all eggs laid in trap

HOW MUCH DOES MOSQUITO AND TICK CONTROL COST?

Every property is different, and we customize the treatments to best fit your situation. Annual treatments start at $425 per season and include 5 treatments from May to October.

For new customers we are offering $50 off annual treatments.

WHAT IF I HAVE PROBLEMS?:

  • Our solution is used for the purpose of mosquito and tick reduction, not elimination. There are so many variables involved when it comes to controlling pests like mosquitos and ticks. We consider wildlife who carry these pests and introduce them to your yard, environments like ponds, brooks, and wetlands. However, the most common issues are stagnant water pools found in neighbors’ yards like:

    • Bird baths

    • Cans and buckets

    • Old tires

    • Horse troughs

    • Overgrown ditches

    • Abandoned swimming pools

  • Our approach is to be honest and transparent and not guarantee 100% elimination. Instead, we will carefully consider all the unique variables of your property and recommend the best approach to maximize reduction of these pests.

  • If you are not satisfied with the results of our treatments, please let us know and we will do our best to find what the best solution will be for your situation. Our promise is to be responsive and honest with you.

FREQUENTY ASKED QUESTIONS

Contact Rich McInnes
  • Is your mosquito and tick control safe?
The products we use are pesticides so there is an inherent risk associated with them. However, our technicians have years’ experience and use the proper application methods to reduce the risk to customers and non-target organisms.
  • What is a Transition Zone?
The transition zone is just a fancy name to describe where the manicured lawn ends, and the wooded area begins.
  • How long do I have to wait before I can go into my yard?
This will depend on the temperature during treatment. The short answer is when the product dries. This is typically 30-45 mins after the application has been made. A more detailed note will be left for you based on the technician’s recommendations at the time of service.
  • What if it rains after treatment?
Rain after treatment is ok. The chemical formulations are produced in such a way that they produce a residual after drying. We are often limited to the number of applications that can be made due to the pesticide label. We also have other additives that can be used to help the residual effect of the pesticide.
